Lake Como | Lombardy

There’s something to be said for a destination that has captured hearts from the Roman Empire through today. Of course, when you first lay eyes on an azure dollop of perfection ringed by villas that could each be their own screensaver, the appeal of the Italian lake district becomes obvious.

Overview
Lake Como’s steep shores are dotted with exquisite villages, exotic gardens and palatial mansions. Located just north of Milan, Como has attracted celebrity residents ever since the first century when Pliny the Younger owned two villas here. Today, a clutch of fashion designers and movie stars maintain the tradition.
